The Graduate Certificate in Initial Teacher Professional Preparation (ITPP) is designed for students who have secured a teaching position, plan to obtain a teaching position, have a temporary teaching certificate, or are interested in gaining a core knowledge in education to successfully work with K-12 populations. The certificate offers foundation courses that can supplement partial requirements toward teacher certification. The ITPP does not include content area courses, internship, or certification exams. However, ITPP graduate certificate courses may transfer into a Florida Department of Education state-approved Â鶹ӳ»´«Ã½ teacher education program. See and . Students can enroll in the ITPP and apply to be accepted to an Education MA or MAT program either concurrently or after earning the certificate.
Students seeking professional educator certification may also apply directly to an Education MA or MAT program without coming from the ITPP. All teacher education candidates are required to complete by Watermark requirements before being certified for graduation.
For the ITPP graduate certificate, students complete five courses, a total of fifteen (15) credit hours.
