The Pre-medical Undergraduate certificate provides students with core and restricted elective courses to build a foundation and prepare students to apply for medical or professional school. This certificate is available to all students at ΒιΆΉΣ³»΄«Γ½ except for Biomedical Sciences Pre-medical track. It should be noted that although this certificate builds a foundation, it does not include all necessary pre-requisite courses needed to apply for medical or professional schools and a student success coach should be consulted to build a complete plan for this challenging endeavor.
Certificate requirements
- A minimum GPA or 2.0 is required in all courses used to satisfy the minor
- Grades below βCβ (2.0) in each course are not accepted in the minor
- At least 12 hours in the minor must be taken at ΒιΆΉΣ³»΄«Γ½ within the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences. If courses are not taken at ΒιΆΉΣ³»΄«Γ½, students must take upper level (3000/4000) Burnett School department electives to complete the residency requirement
- Not available to Biomedical Science - Pre-medical track majors
- A minimum of 6 credit hours in the certificate must be outside of the course requirements for any major or other minor the student is pursuing
