The Âé¶¹Ó³»­´«Ã½ Downtown Leadership Team unanimously approved the list of Âé¶¹Ó³»­´«Ã½ academic programs that are slated to relocate during the multi-year creation of a campus in downtown Orlando.

You can see the full list of academic programs here, which were approved by Âé¶¹Ó³»­´«Ã½ President John C. Hitt, Valencia College President Sandy Shugart, City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, Florida Senator Andy Gardiner and Orange County Public Schools Superintendent Barbara Jenkins.

Among the programs selected are those in the , the , many programs in the and a PhD track in Exceptional Education. While the phasing and timing of relocating these programs will be dependent upon funding, the programs were selected based upon the benefits students and faculty would experience because of being in downtown Orlando. Leaders in these academic programs saw new opportunities for internships and experiential learning at the downtown campus, in addition to building upon the strengths of digital media-related programs already located downtown in Âé¶¹Ó³»­´«Ã½’s Center for Emerging Media.

The state Legislature is expected to decide on the first round of funding for Âé¶¹Ó³»­´«Ã½ Downtown during its special session, which begins June 1.
