This morning, ΒιΆΉΣ³»΄«Γ½ announced it would present its plans on the downtown campus at a future Board of Governorsβ meeting.
βΒιΆΉΣ³»΄«Γ½ remains committed to developing a campus in downtown Orlando to serve our students and our community,β said Grant J. Heston, vice president for Communications & Marketing.
βWe asked to postpone our presentation to the Board of Governors to a future meeting to provide the most comprehensive overview possible.
βWe appreciate the support of our partners and the entire community to build a downtown campus that will make high-quality education more affordable and accessible in Central Florida.β
The ΒιΆΉΣ³»΄«Γ½ Downtown project has built momentum in recent weeks.
On Tuesday, Orange County Commissioners unanimously committed $3 million to the campus project.
Valencia Collegeβs Board of Trustees on Oct. 21 approved the downtown campus as a top priority and plans to contribute $2 million toward the construction of a new academic building that it will share with ΒιΆΉΣ³»΄«Γ½.
Other project partners include the City of Orlando, Orange County Public Schools and Creative Village Development, LLC.
