Direct Support Organizations & Related Entities<\/h2>\n

Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½’s seven direct support organizations (DSOs) and one related entity exist solely to benefit the Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½. They support fundraising, research, athletics, academic health activities, facility management, and public-private collaborations, all in line with Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½’s strategic goals.<\/p>\n

Oversight of these organizations is vested in the Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ Board of Trustees and the Florida Board of Governors. University vice presidents, acting as CEOs according to each entity’s governing documents, supervise their operations. Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½’s DSOs and related entity are Florida not-for-profit, federally tax-exempt organizations. Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ Academic Health, Inc. (Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½AH) supports medical education, research, and patient care through the planning and development of clinical initiatives and affiliated partnerships. Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½AH is partnered with HCA in initiatives that include the development of the Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ Lake Nona Hospital adjacent to the Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ Health Sciences Campus.\u00a0 In addition, Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½AH also leases from Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ space in the Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ Lake Nona Cancer Center, which it has sublet to private partner\/tenants.<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t
