One week after claiming its third-consecutive league title, the Â鶹ӳ»´«Ã½ men’s golf team was well represented Tuesday when Conference USA announced its individual honors. Â鶹ӳ»´«Ã½’s Greg Eason (Leicester City, England) was named the C-USA Freshman of the Year, and Bryce Wallor was selected as the conference coach of the year.

Junior Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) was also named to the All-C-USA First Team. In addition to his freshman of the year award, Eason garnered spots on the all-conference second team, as well as the all-freshman squad.

The league’s 11 head coach voted for the awards. On April 26, the Knights used an impressive third-round performance to win the C-USA Championship title in Texarkana, Ark. Â鶹ӳ»´«Ã½ finished at 862 (-2), two shots ahead of second-place Memphis.

Eason, who placed second individually at 6-under 210, has enjoyed an incredible freshman campaign. He has played in all 10 of the team’s events and has recorded seven top-10 finishes. In only his second collegiate event, Eason took medalist honors at the Adams Cup of Newport in Rhode Island in September. He leads the squad with a 72.3 stroke average and received C-USA Golfer of the Week honors four times.

Arendell has also appeared in all 10 tournaments in 2010-11 and has posted four top-10 finishes. He took the individual title at the first event of the year – the Wolf Run Intercollegiate in Indiana in September. Arendell tied for 13th at the league championship.

In his second campaign with the Knights, Wallor has led Â鶹ӳ»´«Ã½ to another successful season. His squad has won three tournament titles and as a result of claiming the C-USA Championship crown, secured a spot in the NCAA Regionals. In addition to the C-USA Championship title, the Knights also finished first at the Adams Cup of Newport and the Rio Pinar Invitational in March in Orlando.

The Knights registered seven top-five finishes during the year. Â鶹ӳ»´«Ã½ is currently ranked 32nd in the Golfstat NCAA Head-to-Head Rankings.
