President Alexander N. Cartwright<\/a> and his wife, First Lady Melinda K. Cartwright, arrived at Âé¶¹Ó³»´«Ã½ in the middle of a global pandemic, knowing the foreseeable future was going to prove challenging. They knew they wanted to do their part to secure the university\u2019s future.<\/p>\n \u201cBefore we officially took the position, we started thinking about what should we do for Âé¶¹Ó³»´«Ã½? What should we do for everybody that\u2019s here?\u201d \u2014 President Cartwright<\/p><\/blockquote>\n \u201cBefore we officially took the position, we started thinking about what should we do for Âé¶¹Ó³»´«Ã½? What should we do for everybody that\u2019s here?\u201d President Cartwright says.<\/p>\n Within the first couple weeks of arriving on campus, the Cartwrights donated $25,000 to emergency relief funds<\/a> to help immediately, and then pledged an additional $225,000 to the university to provide for the future.<\/p>\n
