Â鶹ӳ»´«Ã½ joins the University of Florida as the only two teams from the state<\/a>\u00a0to qualify for the postseason tournament.<\/p>\nAs the winners of the American Athletic Conference, the Knights secured an automatic bid to this year’s tournament, which marks their 11th appearance in school history.<\/p>\n
“It’s so exciting to be a part of another selection Sunday. That’s three in a row now,” Â鶹ӳ»´«Ã½ Volleyball Head Coach\u00a0Todd Dagenais\u00a0said. “Fortunately, we were able to go out and win the conference to guarantee our spot\u2026 Now, all of our energy will go into preparing to play High Point.”<\/p>\n
The Knights’ conference championship victory marked their second straight AAC Tournament Championship win. The Knights also won the inaugural conference tournament in Orlando in 2019. It also marked Â鶹ӳ»´«Ã½’s third overall conference title as the Knights went undefeated in 2018 to claim the regular-season championship.<\/p>\n
Three Knights were named to the AAC’s all-tournament team. McKenna Melville was selected as the Most Outstanding Player and was honored alongside Anne-Marie Watson and Nerissa Moravec. Additionally, Melville\u00a0was tabbed as the league’s Player of the year and earned All-Conference First Team honors along with Watson. Moravec garnered second team honors. Â鶹ӳ»´«Ã½ head coach Todd Dagenais was named American Athletic Conference Co-Coach of the Year.<\/p>\n
