Scott Talks Jobs, Education on WÂ鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ TV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Central Florida PBS viewers have a front-row seat for discussions with Gov. Rick Scott, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and other area \u201cmovers and shakers\u201d in WÂ鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ TV\u2019s first locally produced public affairs show debuting this month.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by Diane Trees, director of the Metropolitan Center for Regional Studies at Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½, <em>Metro Center Outlook<\/em> explores issues impacting Florida\u2019s economic prosperity and development.<\/p>\n<p>The new show kicked off with a special\u00a0episode featuring Gov. Rick Scott, filmed on location during last month\u2019s Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando.\u00a0The special premiered on WÂ鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ TV at 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, and it will re-air at 11:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14; 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16; 11 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16; and 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20.<\/p>\n<p>The entire show with Gov. Scott also is available <a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/6RO18Q3iePQ\">online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>During the interview, Scott talks with Trees about Florida\u2019s projected $3 billion budget deficit and high unemployment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t want to create programs that don\u2019t fit for Florida,\u201d Scott says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have to choose the things that are good for Florida,\u201d he adds. \u201cSome things politically, people don\u2019t like, but it\u2019s the right thing for the state.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Metro Center Outlook<\/em> settles into its permanent home at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays beginning Oct. 26. It will re-air on Thursdays at 9 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Read more about WÂ鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ TV&#8217;s new fall lineup <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/wucf-tvs-fall-lineup-features-new-local-shows-old-favorites\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Additional guests for the first season include businessman and community leader Rick Walsh; Lake Nona Medical City advocate Rasesh Thakkar; and Paul Tash, chairman and CEO of the Times Publishing Co. in St. Petersburg.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Metro Center Outlook<\/em> will take a thoughtful look at issues important to our viewers, region and state,\u201d Trees said. \u201cOur goal is to present multiple sides of a story so that viewers can make up their own mind.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trees\u2019 Metro Center, in partnership with other institutions and organizations, was established in 2001 to serve as a link between Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ and the community in a regional approach that encompasses 13 Central Florida counties. It was founded by former Orange County Mayor Linda Chapin.<\/p>\n<p>WÂ鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ TV is a partnership between the Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ and Brevard Community College, created to keep PBS in Central Florida.
