{"id":36647,"date":"2012-05-24T07:45:42","date_gmt":"2012-05-24T11:45:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=36647"},"modified":"2018-09-07T10:40:35","modified_gmt":"2018-09-07T14:40:35","slug":"planned-giving-donors-leave-a-lasting-impression","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/planned-giving-donors-leave-a-lasting-impression\/","title":{"rendered":"Planned Giving Donors Leave a Lasting Impression"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Donors who have included Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ in their estate plans were honored last night at a special\u00a0recognition event held at the Morgridge International Reading Center (MIRC).<\/p>\n<p>The Millican Society, named for Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½\u2019s founding president, was established in 2000 and recognizes those individuals who make a planned gift commitment to benefit\u00a0Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ and its students. \u201cWe appreciate the support of all of our donors, but Millican Society members\u2019 support is especially meaningful because it so significantly impacts Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½\u2019s future,\u201d said Donald Hale, director of Gift Planning at the Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>President Hitt reflected on the society\u2019s namesake, the late Dr. Charles Millican, with whom he shared a special friendship. He called Millican a \u201ctrue pioneer whose creative vision, trailblazing spirit and clear resourcefulness inspired many.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Hitt thanked donors for their commitment to to Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½&#8217;s long-term advancement and said that Millican would be happy to see so many people who believe in &#8220;the good work that he began and that we are doing, and will continue to do, at Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As members of the Millican Society, you are envisioning the future of Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ and planning for its success, just as Charlie did early on,&#8221; said Hitt\u00a0.
