It helps if you get used to the fact that Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ is a big university with lots of buildings. It\u2019s not a convenience store; you shouldn\u2019t expect to park 10 feet from the front door of your first class.<\/p>\n<p>Knowing your way around will make it easier. Consider parking in <a href=\"https:\/\/map.ucf.edu\/?show=147\">Garage A<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/map.ucf.edu\/?show=160\">Libra Garage<\/a>, which nearly always have space available. Or try <a href=\"https:\/\/map.ucf.edu\/?show=125\">Lot E4<\/a>, a Park and Ride lot at the softball stadium across from Bright House Networks Stadium (you\u2019ll still need a campus parking permit for this lot). A Park and Ride shuttle runs continuously between Lot E4 and the shuttle stop near the Health and Public Affairs buildings, with pickups every 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t forget: To park on campus, you need a <a href=\"https:\/\/parking.ucf.edu\/permits\/\">parking permit<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ App<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you haven\u2019t already, download the newly redesigned Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ Mobile app for <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/app\/ucfmobile\/id419222698?mt=8\">IOS<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.blackboard.android.central.ucf\">Android<\/a> on your smartphone. Launch the app and you\u2019ll find a treasure trove of information that will put you two steps ahead. Within the app, tap the \u201cMaps\u201d icon to find any building on campus and walking directions on how to get there. Or tap the \u201cShuttles\u201d icon to find the exact location of the shuttle you\u2019re waiting for via GPS tracking. Or tap the \u201cWebcourses\u201d icon to check your grades. Or \u201cCalendar\u201d to find out about upcoming concerts, career fairs and more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Navigating Campus<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The first two days of the fall semester, you can find helpful people at key spots around campus. These Campus Locator tents will be staffed by Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ employees and student leaders who can answer questions, provide directions and give you a map. Look for them on the sidewalk by Garage I and the Education Building;\u00a0Memory Mall by the Veterans Commemorative Site; the side of the Reflecting Pond closest to Howard Phillips Hall; and the courtyard north of Ferrell Commons, near the Mathematical Sciences Building.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fun for New Knights<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Convocation: The Knighting<\/em> is the official university welcome for new, first-year and transfer students alike. Held the Sunday before fall classes begin, President John C. Hitt and other administrators join current students, Knightro and others at this exciting and motivational event to kick off your academic journey.
