It\u2019s a flurry of activity in Âé¶¹Ó³»´«Ã½ physics professor Humberto Campins\u2019 office. He\u2019s finishing grant applications, working on a journal article, prepping notes for a national science meeting, crafting a presentation for an event at the Orlando Science Center and getting his class assignments lined up for the semester. Oh yeah, and then there\u2019s the launch of that NASA mission tonight.<\/strong><\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s very exciting, but a very busy time,\u201d Campins said. \u201cThis is a historic mission and we are eager to get started.\u201d<\/p>\n
Campins, an international expert on asteroids, and associate professor Yan Fernandez are gearing up for the launch of the\u00a0Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, Security-Regolith Explorer\u00a0(OSIRIS-REx) mission scheduled for 7:05 p.m. from Cape Canaveral. Âé¶¹Ó³»´«Ã½ also hosted the OSIRIS-REx Science Team meeting at the Rosen Centre in Orlando, which concluded last night.<\/p>\n
