{"id":77930,"date":"2017-06-27T11:27:12","date_gmt":"2017-06-27T15:27:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=77930"},"modified":"2018-07-02T14:12:50","modified_gmt":"2018-07-02T18:12:50","slug":"international-clarinet-association-ucf-partner-bring-clarinetfest-orlando","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/international-clarinet-association-ucf-partner-bring-clarinetfest-orlando\/","title":{"rendered":"International Clarinet Association, Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ Partner to Bring ClarinetFest to Orlando"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ClarinetFest, the annual conference of the International Clarinet Association, will meet July 26-30 in Orlando in partnership with Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½\u2019s School of Performing Arts.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the ICA will hold meetings and presentations during the conference, but several evening concerts \u2013 some of which will be by Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ musicians \u2013 are open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOver 1,400 clarinet enthusiasts will be coming to Orlando,\u201d said Keith Koons, professor of clarinet at Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ and artistic director of the conference at the DoubleTree\u00a0Hotel, 5780 Major Blvd. \u201cWe are pleased that the public will have access to conference performances with many impressive international artists.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ Percussion Ensemble will perform at 4:30 p.m. July 28, and the Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ Jazz Professors combo will perform at 8:30 p.m. July 29 with two nationally known jazz clarinetists, Ken Peplowski and Allan Vach\u00e9. Vach\u00e9 lives in the Orlando area.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for these and several other concerts listed at <a href=\"https:\/\/clarinet.org\/\">www.clarinet.org<\/a> are available at the door. General admission tickets are $15.<\/p>\n<p>The ICA also will present a free outreach concert at 3 p.m. July 29 at Dr. Phillips High School.
