{"id":81954,"date":"2018-04-10T16:48:38","date_gmt":"2018-04-10T20:48:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/?p=81954"},"modified":"2018-06-07T16:51:39","modified_gmt":"2018-06-07T20:51:39","slug":"ucf-celebrates-planned-giving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucf.edu\/news\/ucf-celebrates-planned-giving\/","title":{"rendered":"Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ Celebrates Planned Giving"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ celebrated Charles Millican Legacy Society members during opening night of Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ Celebrates the Arts on April 6.<\/p>\n<p>More than 80 donors who have included the university in their estate plans were honored at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and thanked for their commitment by Jeff Moore, dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, and others.<\/p>\n<p>Moore, who helped launch the Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ Celebrates the Arts festival four years ago, is also a member of the Millican Society. He and his wife established the Jeff and Mindy Moore Endowed Music Scholarship at Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½. \u201cMy legacy gift is scholarship, in an area about which I am extremely passionate \u2013 music, and specifically percussion \u2013 at a place in which I believe: Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Remembering the festival\u2019s goal \u2013 to extend the arts and make an impact on the community \u2013 Moore expressed his appreciation for society donors who similarly \u201cunderstand the importance of playing an active role in improving lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Charles Millican Legacy Society is named in honor of Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½\u2019s founding president. Two years ago, which would have been Millican\u2019s 100th birthday year, a goal was set to add 100 new members by the end of the IGNITE fundraising campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Planned gifts are an important part of IGNITE, a multi-year fundraising effort to raise $500 million for the university by mid-2019.
