The first full weekend of preseason games in the NFL got started Thursday night and a number of former Knights impressed, including three rookies from last year\u2019s 2017 squad.\u00a0Jordan Akins ’17<\/span>,\u00a0Shaquem Griffin ’16<\/span>\u00a0and Tre\u2019Quan Smith\u00a0’17<\/span> all had stellar NFL debuts.<\/p>\n Currently, there are 23 former Âé¶¹Ó³»´«Ã½ student-athletes on 15 different NFL rosters all vying to make their respective team’s final 53-man squad for the 2018 season.<\/p>\n Akins, who started in Aug. 9\u2019s game against Kansas City, needed just two plays to make his splash. The Houston tight end hauled in two catches for 20 yards and two touchdowns as the Texans defeated the Chiefs, 17-10.<\/p>\n
