\n[lead]What would a football game be without the marching\u00a0band? If you ask senior Bobby Gillman, the Marching\u00a0Knights\u2019 sousaphone coordinator, \u201cThat\u2019d be like\u00a0chicken without the spices \u2014 and that just shouldn\u2019t\u00a0happen.\u201d[\/lead]<\/p>\n

Thankfully, the Marching Knights have been\u00a0adding the essential zest to the university\u2019s football\u00a0games for the past 40 seasons, with the band\u2019s creation\u00a0just a year after the team\u2019s founding. As one of the\u00a0largest student organizations at Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½, the Marching\u00a0Knights are the most visible and vibrant force on\u00a0campus \u2014 and they put in hundreds of hours a semester\u00a0to uphold that honor and responsibility.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing a\u00a0Marching Knight is a huge test of character, but our\u00a0bond is what keeps me coming back,\u201d Gillman says. \u201cWe\u2019re the hype men for the\u00a0whole university.\u201d<\/p>\n
