Summer 2020 | By Nicole Dudenhoefer<\/strong> ’17<\/b><\/em><\/p>\n When the nation faced a shortage of personal protective\u00a0equipment, two groups from Âé¶¹Ó³»´«Ã½ partnered with 3D\u00a0printer manufacturer Stratasys to help alleviate the\u00a0demand. By tweaking designs they found online, Âé¶¹Ó³»´«Ã½’s\u00a0Prototype Development and 3D Print Lab (PD3D)\u00a0optimized rapid production through Stratasys’ 150\u00a0printers nationwide<\/a>. Limbitless Solutions joined\u00a0Stratasys’ national coalition to produce visors for face\u00a0shields and other items to help keep medical workers\u00a0safe<\/a>. \nFace shields distributed nationwide by Stratasys by\u00a0May 8. Another 150,000 face shields will be shipped\u00a0in the near future.<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>Products that can be printed each day by Stratasys\u00a03D printers after PD3D’s redesign \u2014 a big boost from\u00a0the previous average of 600 a week<\/p>\n
\n<\/strong>Ear savers, which are hooks that make wearing\u00a0surgical and cloth masks more comfortable, that\u00a0Limbitless has distributed to staff at Orlando Health<\/p>\n
\nMinutes to print the slimmer face shields designed\u00a0by PD3D<\/p>\n
\nSpecial messages \u2014 love, compassion, hope\u00a0or thank you \u2014 included on each of Limbitless’\u00a0face shields, staying true to the nonprofit’s\u00a0signature personal touch<\/p>\n
