BIOGRAPHY: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Peter was born and raised in South Vietnam. As a teenager, he left the country as a \u201cboat person\u201d, lived in a refugee camp, and eventually moved to the USA. He gradually earned his HS, AA, and BCE in Orlando, Florida. Upon graduating from Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ with a bachelor\u2019s in civil engineering, he joined the US Army as an Engineer officer for almost three decades. He then returned to Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ for advanced study in civil engineering and earned his second master in 2022. He is working on his final formal education step, a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering.<\/p>\n

RESEARCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Peter is a member of the Â鶹ӳ»­´«Ã½ Ecohydraulics Lab. His research has been interdisciplinary, combining civil engineering and biology. The study focuses on minimizing coastal erosion and enhancing shallow-water ecosystems (e.g., estuaries).<\/p>\n
